"Ur So Gay"
Is anyone offended by this?
Katy Perry is testing something that bloggers know well: it is dangerous to say something that could be offensive if it is not properly understood. I think bloggers in general have become much more careful in their use of irony, for example, and often include italic disclaimers stating, "I am being sarcastic here!"
So I would be interested to know what people think of this song, which a friend showed me on YouTube. And do you think your impression would be different if you heard it on the radio without the video?
Maybe artists have greater discretion to say "my work isn't offensive; you just don't get it" than bloggers do? Are bloggers artists? If bloggers are rock stars, and Born With A Tail is Kurt Cobain, then who is Stephen Taylor?
Anyhow, let me know what you think, please.

She's just seems to be pointing out an ironic fact that fitting all the stereotypes is more important than actually "liking" members of the same sex to be considered gay.
I don't think it's overly offensive... maybe a little bit lame.
I think it's a commentary about the modern "metro-sexual" male, not offensive at all
Reminds me a lot of "You're so vain" by Carly Simon.
